FIBRE OPTIC CABLEFibre optics behaves quite different to metal cable. The concept of information transmission is same though. We need to take a “carrier” signal, identify a signal parameter we can modulate, we can modulate it with information & that‘s it. There is a very high frequency type of carrier, the light. Light frequency is very high, tens of Tera Hertz. It has high bandwidth & high capacity so; it is more capable of transmitting information. There are two classes of optical fibre. These classes are separated both by construction and by their propagation properties.They are called single-mode & multimode fibre. Single–mode fibre core are on the order of 3 to 10um while the cladding diameter is 125um.And multimode fiber core are on the order of 40 to 300um and cladding diameter is 125 to 300um.
